Walk out with the absolute highest cash value for your gold jewelry and other precious metal items. At the Diamond & Gold Exchange we believe that trust and honesty are essential in the gold buying process. We understand that our clients gold jewelry, diamond jewelry, silver jewelry, platinum jewelry, and precious metals are dear and of sentimental value to them, and because of that we test and weigh all precious metals and stones in front of them. We have a clear and concise program that displays all calculations so that the seller can see the exact amount we can offer for their precious metals. We do not attempt to pressure our clients to sell, but in fact do our best to educate our clients on the value of their items so they can see why we offer what we do. How is the Purity of Gold Measured? Karat Grade For gold, karat grade is used to express the proportion of gold in an alloy. Fine gold (99.9% pure) is 24 karat. The proportions in other karats are listed in the table below. All jewelry is required by law to be hallmarked. Jewelry made in North America is marked with the karat grade (10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, 24K), and jewelry made in Italy is marked with a hallmark such as (417, 583, 750, 917, 999). So if your jewelry does not have a karat grade stamped on it, check for a 3-digit hallmark.
The higher the purity of Gold, the greater its karat value will be. When you come in for an appraisal, we will carefully examine the gold pieces that you bring in on individual basis to ensure a thorough analysis. We have a qualified staff of gemologists and appraisers who will be responsible for the care and evaluation of all of your pieces. With over 45 years of experience, our well trained staff will conduct a test on each piece with the best equipment available, ensuring that you get the absolute highest price for your gold. All tests performed will be done in your presence. Once the evaluation process has concluded and the current market value is known, we will begin with the payout process. This will be based on the weight and purity determined, and you are paid based on the actual gold market value of the day.
